Specialist dams engineers routinely work with a range of experts including:
- environmentalists
- geotechnical engineers
- geomorphologists
- hydraulic modellers
- hydraulic structure specialists
- material specialists
- mining and mineral specialists
- topographic and bathymetric surveyors
- structural and seismic analysts
Reservoir asset management projects typically involve inspections by various specialists to certify safety, assess condition and risks and/or to provide advice on the scope and cost of remedial and improvement works. In the UK this work is carried out by or led by panel engineers appointed under UK reservoir safety legislation and we have carried out statutory inspections and reports for several hundred reservoirs over the last ten years.
We have also worked internationally on portfolio assessments of dams in several countries to advise on prioritisation of safety improvement measures, as well as providing more detailed advise and design services for individual dams.
