Halcrow is underpinning its position as one of the Middle East’s leading consultancy firms by sponsoring MEED’s 2009 Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS).
To be held from 9 February to 11 February 2009 at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi, AWCS will address the issues of business sustainability in a region that has benefited from double digit growth for a decade, and is now grappling with the impact of the world economic slowdown.
With the theme 'achieving business sustainability in a challenging market', over 700 delegates, led by an exclusive speaker panel of chairmen, chief executive officers and regional directors, will debate and identify strategic steps for maintaining and improving upon the current market environment.
Halcrow’s chief executive, Peter Gammie and regional managing director for the Middle East, David Yaw, will be attending and will be taking part in panel discussions.
Commenting on Halcrow’s support, David Yaw said: “In the 55 years Halcrow as been working in the Middle East we’ve witnessed many peaks and troughs in the region’s construction industry. The changes we are seeing now are as rapid and dramatic as any we have experienced. We welcome MEED’s initiative in establishing this forum for policy makers and decision takers from public and private sector clients, contractors and fellow professionals to discuss the issues that face us all. The timing of this event could not be better as we all strive to adapt to new realities.”
