Halcrow has received the corporate citizenship award for innovation at the Quality Scotland Scottish awards for business excellence 2010.
The accolade comes following the company's recent success at the Sustainable Scotland summit held by royal charity Scottish Business in the Community, where its sustainable travel plan won a sustainable travel award.
The Scottish awards for business excellence are described the most rigorous and prestigious business awards in Scotland. Open to any Scottish organisation from the private, public or voluntary sector, the awards are recognised across the UK and Europe as a mark of outstanding business excellence.
Halcrow’s regional director for the north of Scotland, John Walker said; “We are delighted to receive this award. In Scotland as worldwide, Halcrow has as a purpose to sustain and improve the quality of people’s lives. Corporate citizenship is embedded in the business, and this - along with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement - has enabled to be constantly innovative in its approach.”
Halcrow has adopted a number of sustainable practices in Scotland - including the sustainable travel plan - and has taken an active and creative role in developing and implementing solutions to bring real benefits to business, environment and the community.
