FORGE: Tuesday 18 May, 2pm at the Congress Centre, Great Russell Street, London
Halcrow is one of the founder members of FORGE – a new industry forum designed to bring together leading construction and property figures to exchange ideas, network and develop partnerships to promote business opportunities. Other partners are London-based Crofton Design Engineering Consultants, Schofield Lothian, Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, and Thomas and Trotman Design.
With Peter Bishop, deputy chief executive of the London Development Agency as the prestigious key note speaker and Transport for London's Steven Norris as the panel discussion chairman, FORGE will be launched on Tuesday 18 May at 2pm at the Congress Centre, Great Russell Street, London.
Representing different disciplines within construction and property, a panel of experts made up of four founding FORGE partners and others will discuss the topic of "Forging ahead? London 2020", to explore possible outcomes and scenarios for the city and will cover topics such as sustainability, finance, and its position as a European city.
“FORGE gives London companies the opportunity to do business and create partnerships with like-minded companies”, comments Alan Rowell, technical director with Halcrow’s property business. “The construction and property industries are facing some tough challenges over the next ten years and we are looking to develop FORGE as an outlet for the alleviation of some of these.”
“What makes FORGE different is that it demonstrates companies coming together who are willing to share knowledge and ideas for the greater benefit of the industry. We are confident it will provide a platform for generating business and forming new partnerships in the capital,” says Robert Fry, managing director of Swanke Hayden Connell Architects.
