The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction’s Ontario Steel Design Award of Merit in the Engineering Category has been awarded to one of Toronto’s newest commercial towers – the Bay Adelaide Centre.
Halcrow Yolles provided full structural engineering services for this challenging project, which involved the integration of the existing substructure with new construction to create new commercial space and a retail concourse. The building’s heritage façade was retained by being re-constructed in place.
The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction promotes good design and safety, as well as the efficient, economical and sustainable use of structural steel.
