Halcrow has been asked by the Scottish Government to speak at a climate change research conference on “What works in behaviour change”.

The event on Monday 28 June is organised by the Scottish Government’s Rural and Environment Analytical Services Unit. The conference aims to bring together policy makers, analysts, academics, and stakeholders to discuss climate change behaviours and focuses on pragmatic solutions for individuals and households to reduce their carbon emissions.

Nicola Blaney, a graduate transport planner from Halcrow’s Glasgow office, will discuss “Getting on board – encouraging change in staff travel behaviour”.  She will draw on the success of Halcrow’s Scottish offices in encouraging sustainable business and commuting travel.  This success was recognised in Halcrow’s recent sustainable travel award given by Scottish Business in the Community.

Conference organiser Jonathan Waite commented: “We were impressed by Halcrow’s commitment to sustainable travel at a recent carbon management event. Climate change is an important issue in Scotland.  We felt Halcrow’s success in encouraging behaviour change could be of benefit to others.”

Regional director Donald Bell said: “We are delighted to share our ideas and commitment to sustainable travel. Our staff across Scotland have taken this issue to heart and their actions have put Halcrow at the forefront of sustainable business and commuting travel”.
