March 2010

An impressive model of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, currently under development in Winnipeg, Canada, was recently showcased at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

More than 5,000 viewers a day visited the Manitoba pavilion to see the dramatic new structure which, when completed, will be the largest human rights institution and education centre in the world.

Halcrow Yolles is providing full structural engineering services for this facility which includes dramatic features such as a central atrium and garden, and a prismatic glass tower - the Tower of Hope - which will offer museum visitors a panoramic view of the sky and city.

Once open, the museum will be a powerful symbol of Canada's unwavering commitment to recognising, promoting, and celebrating human rights.
