Role: Civil and structural engineering consultants for the construction arm of Carillion (the main contractors).
Halcrow Yolles was appointed as civil and structural engineering consultant to the Carillion / Cyrill Sweet consortium delivering the South Ayrshire Schools PPP project. This £55 million development incorporated five new schools and a school auditorium for South Ayrshire Council.
The development was phased, with each building and associated infrastructure programmed for delivery to meet the requirements of the council spend and the school timetable. This included decanting and phased demolition.
The schools were designed to service the community through various additional elements such as community libraries, lecture theatres, public areas and sports facilities.
The schools are now operational, with the project achieving practical completion on programme and within budget.
