Halcrow Yolles was building services engineer and sustainability advisor for this 358 bed new-build, high-quality student and conference accommodation unit on the University of Bath campus.
The client brief placed great emphasis on sustainability, and the building incorporates significant ecological enhancements, solar heating for domestic hot water, natural ventilation, energy efficient heating systems and water saving appliances. Attention was paid to the construction process as well, and Halcrow Yolles is monitoring energy use, deliveries to site, sorting and recycling of waste, procurement of certified timber and protection of ecological features.
