Role: Full structural engineering services

Halcrow Yolles provided full structural engineering services for the redevelopment of this historic site at the University of Toronto. The existing stadium, which was built in several stages starting in 1898, was demolished in 2004. Starting as a major track and field site it eventually housed the Canadian Football League (CFL) Toronto Argonauts for many years.

The new facility is a 5,000 seat stadium for football, soccer and track and field. In time, it will also include a new athletic centre for the university’s varsity teams and students. A state-of-the-art facility, the University of Toronto’s Varsity Centre has been awarded the 2009 and 2010 Canadian Track and Field Championships by Athletics Canada.
