Halcrow as been working in Oman since the early 1970s during which time we have worked closely with government and private sector clients. We have a permanent office in Muscat led by Omani regional manager Abdul Kareem Al-Balushi.
A member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and with a population of over two and half million people, Oman has seen significant development over the past decade. Halcrow is proud to have contributed to this growth.
Much of our work has been in the maritime field, for example design and construction supervision for Salalah port and our long-term involvement in the development of Sohar industrial port. In the aviation sector, we have designed several airfield developments, hangars and terminal expansion projects including Seeb airport, Muscat.
Other projects we have undertaken include master planning for the 73-hectare Aint development, and master planning and detailed infrastructure design for the coastal town of Bandar Jissah.
Drawing on our strong local knowledge and wide-ranging international expertise, we look forward to continuing our support of Oman’s development in line with the country’s long-term development strategy, Vision 2020, which outlines its economic and social goals over 25 years.
