Yaver Abidi BSc (Hons), MSc, DIC, MS, P.Eng
Yaver Abidi joined Halcrow in 1995. With over 15 years’ management experience including executive management at managing director level, his responsibilities include the development and execution of strategy, change management, business planning, acquisitions, alliances, sales and business development.
In 2007, Yaver was appointed group development director. He is responsible for business development for major projects and business opportunities across the globe; managing Halcrow’s company-wide business planning process; and market evaluation, strategic analysis and investment planning for Halcrow in new and evolving markets.
He has 29 years’ experience working in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. A geotechnical engineer, for roughly half of his career he worked on the design and construction of hydroelectric power projects, dams and diverse civil engineering and environmental projects.
Yaver holds an MS in Management from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University; an MSc in Soil Mechanics from Imperial College, London, and a BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering from Southampton University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
