Jon Wicks BSc PhD CEng MICE
Jon Wicks has over 20 years’ experience in flood risk management and wider aspects of water resources. His particular specialism is in flood modelling and he is widely regarded by key Halcrow clients for his technical leadership in this important sector.
Jon has led the development of key industry software products in flood modelling, including Halcrow’s world renown ISIS flood and river modelling software. He also leads internal research and development projects and a range of contract research projects for public sector clients.
Both in the UK and internationally he has worked on many ground breaking projects. In the UK he has worked extensively on the River Thames, leading high profile projects covering flood forecasting, flood mapping and appraisal of strategic options for future management of flood risk through London. Internationally, he has worked in South America, Europe and Asia on major river systems such as the Mekong (Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam), Taihu Lake (China) and Rio Salado (Argentina).
He has published over 30 papers and regularly presents at major conferences.
