Peter Robery
Peter is a leading expert in materials technology. He has a particular focus on concrete durability for new-build structures, as well as forensic engineering examination of older structures to develop maintenance and repair strategies. His experience ranges from bridges and tunnels, to industrial facilities, commercial buildings and sports stadia. His work also covers disaster investigations involving fire, flood and bomb damage.
As well as general engineering work for clients, Peter is an experienced expert witness, preparing and giving evidence in cases for both the civil and criminal courts and advanced dispute resolution methods for adjudication, mediation and international arbitration.
A past President of the Concrete Society (2006 to 2008), Peter is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Leeds and Queens University Belfast, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where he teaches on Master of Engineering and Master of Science courses covering bridge maintenance and management and concrete deterioration, maintenance and repair.
Peter is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Concrete Society and a Member of the Institute of Concrete Technology. He also chairs BSI’s mirror committee developing and revising European Standard EN1504.
Peter is author of over 60 publications, including papers and book chapters, on the management of concrete infrastructure assets.
