Framework Offering(s)
The GIS team provides a full range of spatial data management services. Through critical analysis of proposed options, we develop complete solutions which effectively deal with customers needs. We work with a spectrum of software from the proprietary suppliers (MapInfo, ESRI, Intergraph, Bentley) through to Open Source Software (GRASS, MapServer) which is a reflection of our broad client base.
A combination of skills and services generally provides the most suitable solution so we have developed our capabilities in a number of areas to reflect this:
Consultancy: Recommendation of software procedures to optimise and streamline workflows, data security, implementation activities and pilot project objectives.
Software development: Expand the usefulness of standard GIS platforms by developing software tailored to specific project needs: interfaces to foreign databases, data translation and data quality control.
Web design: Maximise the investment made in data collection by disseminating information via inter/intranet sites. Halcrow will implement web-based solutions within client organisations, or alternatively host on Halcrow servers.
Data management: The design, construction, manipulation and query of databases form a core part of the specialist knowledge of the team, with expertise in a range of relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server and MSAccess. Customisation of databases to enhance functionality or streamline workflows for specific applications is offered.
Field-data collection: Halcrow offer a vast experience in the collection of field data. This ranges from national asset surveys through to topographic survey work. Halcrow employ the latest hardware including GPS field loggers with live connections to corporate databases.
Training: Comprehensive training, user reference guides and on-going support form part of our deliverable to ensure you, the Customer receives the full benefit of your investment.
Map production: Chart production for site maps, atlases and bathymetric drawings
