The University of Toronto’s Leslie Dan School of Pharmacy has received the 2006 Ontario Steel Design Award in the Engineering category.
Halcrow Yolles provided full structural engineering services for this 15,799 m², 12 storey facility which accommodates teaching laboratories, lecture theatres and research facilities.
The dramatic five storey light-filled glass atrium features two silver-coloured pods, holding lecture halls and assembly space, which are suspended in mid-air by steel rods using innovative engineering techniques and structural steel. |
