Airport projects manager , Abu Dhabi, UAE
Halcrow are a leading consultant in the airports sector in the Middle East with over 40 staff with airport related skills an airfield design capability based in Dubai design Office. We have a substantial role in the development of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi International airports where we have been assisting our Clients to meet their needs for over 15 years.
In addition to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi we have a portfolio clients with multi disciplinary projects that require design management and project management of airfield infrastructure and airport buildings projects throughout the Middle East region.
Key role objective
The principal function of this position is to lead multi-disciplinary engineering / planning teams for a broad client base. Projects will vary in scale and some short-term travel is possible.
The position reports to the Airports Sector Director, Middle East as well as relevant Project Directors.
Key areas of responsibility
The priorities of this role include:
- Responsibility for delivering airport development projects to build Halcrow's business and reputation
- Planning and management of resources for project teams
- Project financial forecasting, reporting and control
- Technical oversight
- Bid leadership
- Staff mentoring and development
Key requirements
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge.
- Good leadership, communication skills and flexibility in dealing with a variety of clients and stakeholders
- A knowledge of the application of the relevant technical and planning guidelines
- Strong commercial awareness and control skills
- An understanding of the design process
- 10 - 15 years experience
Whilst the preference is for extensive experience gained specifically within an airports environment, candidates with a background in the management of general civil engineering infrastructure design projects at an airport are also invited to apply. Your background may have been with an airport operator, design consultancy, project management consultancy or possibly an architect.
Fluency in Arabic would be an advantage but is not essential.
Minimum qualifications
A university degree is essential which could be in engineering, planning, , architecture or other recognised and relevant field.
