Senior highways design engineer, Romania

Halcrow Romania SRL, member of the Halcrow, an international infrastructure consultancy, is looking for a highways design engineer from Bucharest to join our transportation team.
Candidate profile:
- University degree from the Faculty of Railways, Roads and Bridges
- Technical experience in highways design (technical design, detailed design)
- Solid knowledge and implementation of the legislative norms in force and the STAS
- Experience in project management and construction supervision represents an advantage
- Use of the following software: AutoCAD, MS Office- essential; MX ROADS preferred
- Career level: Mid-level/minimum 5 years of professional experience; preferably 10 years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of the English language
- Flexible attitude, proactive, team spirit, organizational capacity, extended intellectual effort capacity.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for drawing up the technical documents and technical projects in conformity with the applicable legislation and with the tasks assigned by the direct hierarchical superior (designing part, supervision part, decisive phases, technical assistance etc)
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Providing and checking the quality of the prepared documents
- Providing the implementation of different assigned tasks as expert within different contracts
- Checking up together with the department manager the costs of the projects in his activity field, as well as the expenditures due to the business development activities, with the purpose of framing them within the budgets allotted to the projects and field
- Drawing up the monthly activity reports
- Providing the identification, assessment, negotiation and supervision of the sub-contractors/ subconsultants existing within the assigned projects
- Getting involved in identifying new business opportunities within the activity field
- Representing the company in the relations with potential or present clients, beneficiaries and collaborators
- Carrying out technical site visits depending on the project interests wherein he is involved
