Inspector of works, bridges, Yas Island Project, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Project / business overview
The Project is to provide the public primary infrastructure network for the whole island, including highways and utilities. Yas Island will be the site of the 2009 Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix and our work is essential to the staging of that event. The infrastructure provision is valued at approx. AED 500m.
Key role objective
The principal function of this position is to supervise contractors and control quality on a day to day basis.
It is essential to have experience of supervising Infrastructure projects in the Middle East. Desirably to have experience of working with Clients
Key areas of responsibility
The priorities of this role include:
- An ability to ensure that works are constructed in accordance with the design and contract documentation
- An ability to communicate clearly in English with Contractor's staff.
Minimum qualifications
The ideal candidate must have;
- Diploma or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering
- The ability to understand technical specifications and inspect for compliance.
- Experience in supervising contractors
