Market sector manager - water management, Cork, Ireland, ref: IRC4903

The river engineering and water management teams in the Ireland are rapidly growing which has led to new opportunities within the Cork team. We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to develop the flood risk management and rapidly growing surface water management parts of our business.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in growing this part of our business for a range of clients and services and expanding the team in the Ireland. It will require good knowledge and experience of flood risk policy/drivers, hydraulic modelling and hydrology.

Essence of role – key accountabilities

The principal function of this position is to:

  • develop the water management and planning business in Ireland
  • working with our existing clients and frameworks
  • seeking out new opportunities in the areas of strategic flood risk management, flood risk assessment and environmental water management.

Technical / professional expertise

The priorities of this role include:

  • responsibility for developing the strategic flood risk management, flood risk assessment, and environmental water management business, with support from senior staff
  • meeting clients and prospective clients
  • preparing proposals and bids for new work
  • developing a team of hydraulic modellers, hydrologists and water management specialists
  • management of projects

Minimum qualifications:

  • master's degree in engineering or relevant scientific field
  • post graduate experience in UK or IRE
