Chief resident engineer, maritime, Bandar Abbas, Iran, ref: IRC6159
Role:
Halcrow is contracted by the Ports & Shipping Organization to supervise construction of Shahid Rajaee Port Complex Development, Basins 2 and 3. This includes two EPC contracts for a new container terminal; the first is partly taken-over and second started more recently.
The scope includes dredging, reclamation, paving, quay wall construction, buildings and services, as well as major port equipment supply.
Essence of role – key accountabilities
The principal function of this position is to:
- supervise EPC contracts
- undertake delegated powers and duties
Job requirements
The priorities of this role include administration of the construction contracts, and maintaining relationships with related organisations, including:
- administration the of construction contracts;
- active monitoring of construction quality standards and progress;
- preparation of reports for Halcrow and the Client;
- management of the foreign and local sub-consultants team;
- liaison with Client Site representatives;
- liaison with local sub-consultant(s);
- making presentations to VIP Client / Government representatives;
- reporting to the Halcrow Project Manager in Dubai.
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
- previous Site supervision experience at CRE or other senior level involving related maritime construction activities;
- able to work with Client in complex organisational relationship, involving influential local main contractor and foreign subcontractors;
- substantial experience of construction of related major port facilities;
- previous work in Middle East or other relevant overseas locations;
- fluent in English language
- a degree in civil engineering or relevant subject at internationally recognised institution and a member of relevant professional organisation would be advantageous.
