Senior expert – energy production / energy transport / renewable, water, Bucharest, Romania, ref: IRC7306
Role purpose
Part of the Power and Industrial sector, Halcrow activities in energy production and transport, energy efficiency, renewable spans across the technologies, wind, wave and tidal, PV Biomass and includes roles throughout the projects cycle.
Halcrow intention is to find a person capable to implement the existing projects within the sector which includes renewable energy and energy saving and to expand the portfolio of projects to new market sectors as production and transportation of energy and co-generation
Essence of role – key accountabilities
The principal function of this position is tobe the leading staff member for the development of this part of the Sectors business, supported by the MSM Power & Industrial.
You will be actively involved in client facing activities, strategic planning, development and proposals for the sector as well as leading projects but you will be expected to support all aspects of the Power & Industrial business in liaison with other MSM’s.

Technical / professional expertise
The priorities of this role include:
- supporting the Regional Development Director in the development and delivery of strategies and plans for the Sector which meet BG requirements and reflect the needs of clients in the Regional market place
- development and maintenance of relationships with key clients for this Sector
- liaison and co-ordination with MSM Power & Industrial
- develop action plans and undertake Sector specific marketing and business development activities
- liaison and co-ordination with other Business Groups with an interest in the sector
- act as bid leader and ensure that the quality of bids is maintained
- deliver on targets for new work and levels of project profitability.
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:
- well honed commercial acumen and proven experience in winning new business
- excellent project management skills and a proven track record in successful project delivery
- a sound appreciation of how customer service impacts on service delivery in the consulting environment
- in depth knowledge of the energy market, key players, market structure, regulation
- capability to effectively lead, develop and motivate a diverse team of professionals working on a variety of projects
- excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
- high level influencing and negotiation skills coupled with energy and enthusiasm
- strong leadership skills
Degree qualified, you should have key experience in technology and policy aspects of the energy market business (production, transport, sector regulation) with a strong background in development and delivery of projects.
