Marine structural engineer, Dubai / Abu Dhabi - ref: IRC7552
Role purpose
Halcrow’s maritime business continues to grow after more than 50 years based in the Middle East region, and we now require mid-level technical staff to assist the Marine Structural Engineering team.
Halcrow is looking for a technically minded team player to assist in delivering our project portfolio.
Essence of role – key accountabilities
The principal function of this role is to work with the Principal Structural Engineer on coastal, port and harbour engineering structures projects. Exhibiting strong technical skills and team participation to help drive projects toward successful completion.

Technical / professional expertise
Your priorities in this role will include:
- calculations
- design drawings
- report writing
- construction quantities and cost estimates
- planning and scheduling
- marine structural design
- specifications
- data gathering
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant degree or equivalent and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
- must be an effective team player
- perform engineering calculation
- design drawings
- familiarity with relevant standards
- permitting and design
- cost and quantity estimates
- familiar with breakwaters, quay walls and other coastal structures design
- coastal development master plans and coastal management plans
- waves and impact on beaches
- familiar with coastal numerical modelling
- excellent responsiveness and communication skills are required
- working towards or obtained Chartered or Professional Engineer status
- B.Sc., B.Eng., M.Sc., or M.Eng. degree in Civil, Coastal or Ocean Engineering
