CAD technician, maritime, Abu Dhabi, UAE - ref: IRC7559
Role purpose
Halcrow’s maritime business continues to grow after more than 50 years based in the Middle East region, and we now require mid-level technical staff to assist the Marine Structural Engineering team.
Halcrow is looking for a technically minded team player to assist in delivering our project portfolio.
Essence of role – key accountabilities
The principal function of this role is to work with Project Engineers and Project Managers for coastal/ocean engineering, port and harbour projects. Exhibiting strong technical and communication skills to assist in the delivery these projects to successful completion.
Your priorities in this role will include:
- produce accurate quality AutoCAD drawings to the required deadlines
- assist with Bid documents when required
- liaise with other business groups on major projects
Job requirements
Technical / professional expertise
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant degree or equivalent and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
- must be an effective team player
- commitment and motivation
- personal planning and organisation
- confident in communication with good presentation skills
- preparing design drawings
- familiarity with relevant CAD standards
- familiar with breakwaters, quay walls and other coastal structures details
Diploma in AutoCAD, Dip in Civil Engineering an advantage, two years min Marine CAD experience.
