Halcrow Pakistan assists Halcrow Group’s offices worldwide in carrying out design & drafting services. These include the Property Business Group in Halcrow’s Dubai office which currently employs approximately 100 plus multi-disciplined engineers.
The successful candidate will enjoy a high profile role within the Halcrow Pakistan team and will play a vital role in developing the business through excellent engineering skills. Halcrow has ambitious targets and we need only the best quality people to help us achieve these goals.
Essence of role – key accountabilities
Senior Electrical Design Engineer
The priorities of this role include:
- to manage and co-ordinate the efficient production of documentation for a number of projects simultaneously.
- staff management.
- electrical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and post contract site support.
- carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings i.e. residential, commercial, educational, leisure facilities, industrial etc.
- design according to local utilities rules, regulations and design guides and obtain necessary statutory approvals.
- preparing technical specifications.
- preparing drawings for drafting by in-house CAD team.
- instruct CAD operators in all project related matters and responsible for the checking of all CAD works done.
- coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Mechanical Engineers and any other external design consultant.
- coordinate with, instruct and supervise Electrical Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians.
- to understand and implement Halcrow ME Quality Assurance procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians.
Job requirements
Technical / professional expertise
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge. These points should align with the key areas of responsibility:
- have a proven track record in leading high quality design projects
- have at least 15 years post graduate experience
- have experience of working in the Middle East and familiar with the design standards followed in Dubai (Modified IEE and DEWA standards)
- be conversant with current good design practice and design methods
- be conversant with current Electrical design software packages
- be conversant with the requirements of the local statutory authorities’ standards.
- have a proven track record working with high profile architectural practices and Blue Chip clients
- be an excellent communicator in written and spoken format
- be a team player able to motivate people and inspire confidence
- have a desire to produce the highest quality work and set standards for the industry
- be generally familiar and conversant with the requirements for LEED certification
Minimum qualifications
- degree in Electrical Engineering
