This is an exciting opportunity to work in the thriving Middle East engineering sector. We have Clients from both the public and private sectors and work on projects throughout the Middle East region.
Halcrow’s Water & Power Business Group employs almost 300 people across four offices in the Middle East working on many multi-million dollar infrastructure projects incorporating all utility services.
You will be based in the Water and Power Business Group within the Sharjah office. The office is a 25min drive from Dubai. Dubai is busy holiday resort with year round sunshine. It offers a high standard of living with first class restaurants, schools, beaches and an airport with excellent links to the rest of the world.
Key role objective
The principal function of this position is to assist and support Senior Engineers of Lighting team in developing Lighting solutions for various applications such as functional Lighting for roads, Interchanges and Tunnels as well as decorative amenity and landscape lighting design.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Assisting the Lighting team in carrying out functional Lighting design for roads, interchanges as well as tunnels in compliance with local authority practices.
- Design of decorative lighting solutions including but not limited to amenity lighting, outdoor landscape lighting, monument lighting, feature lighting for creek bridges.
- As CAD support in developing the Lighting design drawings.
- Assisting in the preparation of lighting presentations/reports.
- Reviewing Shop drawings and material submittal documents.
- Attending the site meetings to resolve the engineering and construction issues related to Lighting.
- Liaison with Local utility authority on design/construction NOC related issues.
- Technical coordination with other utilities in multi disciplinary infrastructure projects as required.
Key requirements
The successful candidate should possess a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with CAD knowledge and be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience of design/installation experience in Lighting field working with consultants/contractors.
- Experience in the Middle East, preferably in UAE in major Highway Lighting projects.
- Should be well accustomed with the practices and standards of local Lighting utility authority.
- Should be computer literate.
- Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage systems and deliver to time in a structured manner with a quality result
- Excellent written and oral English language skills
Minimum qualifications
A relevant Electrical diploma in engineering (3 years course) and Auto CAD certified.
