NCE ranks Halcrow top in UK and Middle East surveys
Halcrow has maintained its position as a market leader in the New Civil Engineer (NCE) Consultants File 2008.
Retaining its position at number one in flooding and coastal work, Halcrow also made the top ten in most market sectors. In line with the company’s strategy for growth, Halcrow stepped up one place from seven to six in the rankings based on total number of staff; and from nine to eight for total fees rendered.
Covering the water, transport, building, environmental and development sectors, the NCE Consultants File is seen as the ultimate league table in the field of construction consulting. In all, 249 companies supplied information to the UK survey making it the largest of its kind.
Over the years, Halcrow has consistently achieved high rankings within each of its core sectors - and this year is no exception.

Halcrow ranked top Middle East consultancy
In a separate survey of Middle East consultants, Halcrow's turnover of £89 million in the region placed it at number two in the list of UK consultants - one position behind Atkins and topping Mott Macdonald, Hyder Consulting and Arup.
The NCE's report highlighted the UK's presence in the Gulf construction market, particularly in the United Arab Emirates where Dubai and Abu Dhabi are currently home to £61 billion worth of construction between them.
With some 1,700 employees working for Halcrow's Middle East region, the company has also been established in the Gulf for the longest time, having just celebrated 55 years of working there.
