Halcrow Yolles engineer short-listed for new achiever award

Halcrow Yolles engineer Nick Sendall has been short-listed in the new achiever category for the 2008 Building Services Awards, sponsored by the Building Services Journal.

The awards celebrate the industry's top performers and encourage higher standards throughout the sector. The new achiever category recognises the talents and successes of new professionals in the industry.

Judges looked for commitment to continued professional development, determination to succeed, a can-do attitude and evidence of these aspects displayed outside of the workplace.

Nick's application highlighted his commitment to sustainability and renewable energy and many of his achievements within Halcrow, and beyond. This includes working towards his IMechE chartership, and running Halcrow Yolles's sustainability technical working party (which includes producing monthly newsletter Sustainable Times), and winning the best graduate presentation ward at a Halcrow professional development event.

This is the second consecutive year that Halcrow Yolles has had success in this category - last year, Annie Brown was highly commended for her entry.

The awards are to be held on 23 June 2008 at London's Grosvenor hotel.
