Halcrow Yolles’s glass staircase wins 2007 Design in Glass Award

The Grand Staircase at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts has won the award for the Laminated Glass – Commercial category at the Glass Association of North America (GANA) 2007 Design in Glass Awards.

Commenting on the project, a jury member commented, “The staircase was an exceptional installation, both as a feat of engineering and as an aesthetic accomplishment. A tremendous amount of ingenuity behind it”.

Halcrow Yolles provided structural engineering services for the striking staircase which is celebrated as the longest unsupported glass staircase ever built.
