Halcrow strengthens rail transportation team
Halcrow has announced the appointment of four new specialists to its team of over 300 UK rail transportation experts. The new joiners will be contributing to Halcrow’s portfolio of national and international commissions.
Jarek Karpiejuk has joined Halcrow from Parsons Brinkerhoff. Based in Warsaw, Poland, Jarek will take on the joint role of regional director - Poland and market sector manager Europe - rail. As regional director he will be responsible for the promoting Halcrow’s transport, water and environmental businesses throughout the country. Jarek, who has been based in Warsaw for many years, has numerous contacts within the Polish rail industry.
Ian Markham has joined from Bombardier Systems to become technical manager - signalling and telecommunications. Based in Halcrow’s York office he will lead a team of 40 IRSE licensed signalling designers and testers.
Ian Scrowston has joined from IUS as technical manager - electrification and plant. Ian will be leading the York-based electrical and mechanical engineering team. Ian will be responsible for his team’s work on design and project management of electrification and power supply equipment, and specialist building services and plant for stations and maintenance depots, as well as power supply simulation services.
Andrew Lim joins Halcrow as technical manager - track systems. Formerly with the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation, he brings extensive experience of design and construction of high speed and metro lines, particularly in Asia. He will lead the track systems team in a range of projects for consultancy, design and supervision for railway track and formation.
Richard Lindop, Halcrow’s technical director said, “Halcrow has established a number of goals for developing its rail business and to further improve services to clients. These latest appointments underpin our commitment to deliver first-class services by appointing respected and knowledgeable experts.
