Halcrow at megatunnels conference, London, UK

Halcrow's Fathi Tarada will be discussing fire safety in megatunnels at the New Civil Engineer's one-day conference on dealing with the challenges of large-scale tunnelling projects.

The event will take place on 18 May in London. Alongside Fathi, speakers from several consultancies, insurers, contractors and clients will be present, including representatives from the High Speed 1, Channel Tunnel Rail Link, Swiss Re and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Among other topics, Fathi will be discussing lessons learnt from past tunnel fires, the application of recent European research activities in tunnel fire safety and how to minimise fire risks at the design stage.
