Halcrow chairman honoured by royal academy

Halcrow chairman Tony Allum was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering at its annual general meeting on 6 July 2005.

The fellowship is a mark of respect from Britain’s national academy of engineering. The academy brings together the country’s most eminent engineers across all disciplines to promote excellence in the science, art and practice of engineering.

It plays a vital role in enhancing the UK’s engineering capabilities by inspiring the next generation, leading debate through informed thinking and influencing policy.

“I’m absolutely delighted to receive the fellowship,” said Tony. “It’s obviously a great honour for me personally and it’s also extremely good for Halcrow.”

Other Halcrow employees elected to the academy include Chris Fleming (1996), Patrick Godfrey (1998) and John Lawson (2002)
