Halcrow: booming business leads to expansion in Peterborough

Halcrow is holding an open evening to support its drive to attract the very best in civil engineering and related disciplines. The company’s expansion plans come in the wake of impressive growth figures for the last two years.

Halcrow’s regional director James Rowntree explains, “We have been in Peterborough since 1987 when we started with a small office of 3 in the city centre providing professional services to what was then Anglian Water Authority. Since this time we have grown substantially and now have over 60 employees providing a wide range of engineering and environmental consultancy advice to regional, national and international clients. Our open evening will enable us to talk directly to those individuals seeking to further their career. We have an urgent need for professionally qualified people in all disciplines including: CAD technicians, landscape architects, river engineers, coastal engineers and scientists, sewerage and drainage engineers, contaminated land scientists, flood management and navigation, coastal and maritime engineers, civil and mechanical electrical engineers, environmental specialists, town planners and highways engineers.”

“Halcrow has the Investors in People standard and we are committed to a programme of continued training and investment,” continues James. “Our training programme for graduates has been recognised by the major engineering institutions and all employees benefit from the training opportunities available in Halcrow, and the structured approach to career development. This in turn creates an environment where staff are motivated, and clients benefit from our investment. We have a dedicated group of people in Peterborough and look forward to expanding the team.”
