Halcrow - EEFIT Bam earthquake field investigation report
The Bam earthquake on 26 Dec 2003 with magnitude Mw=6.6, destroyed most of the city of Bam and nearby villages, and killed more than 26,000 people.
After the earthquake a field investigation visit was organised by Halcrow Group Limited as part of its commitment to improving our understanding of hazards presented by natural disasters, and supported by Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team (EEFIT) in the UK.
Dr. Ali Manafpour from Special Structures Skill Group visited the earthquake stricken region from 11th to 17th January 2004 and presented the findings of the mission at the EEFIT technical meeting on 3rd March 2004 in the Institution of Structural Engineering in London.
