Toronto shopping centre wins two International Design and Development awards

The Yorkdale Shopping Centre renovation and expansion project has received the 2006 International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Design Award and Sustainable Design Award in the renovation or expansion of an existing project category (for projects over 500,000 ft²) at the 30th International Design and Development awards.

Halcrow Yolles provided full structural engineering and façade consulting services for this project which features exterior scaled architectural storefronts and a new 56’ x 308’ barrel vault skylight with light, exterior structure spanning between two buildings.
