Halcrow wins workforce development award
Halcrow’s Peterborough office has won an award for ‘workforce development’ at this year’s Peterborough Evening Telegraph business awards.
The awards ceremony took place at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Peterborough, on Friday 17 November. The ceremony was hosted by popular television presenter Eamonn Holmes.
The criteria for the workforce development category was; “a company that demonstrated a real commitment to the training and personal development of staff”. The judges were looking at the training policies and initiatives that have been introduced”.
The award submission was put forward by graduate engineer Simon Morris and economic development consultant Binal Karia. Speaking about the night Simon Morris said: “It was a fabulous evening and an ideal opportunity to show the great work that Halcrow are doing in staff development. It was a great feeling to hear Halcrow being announced winners and know that I work for a company interested in my career and how it develops”.
Binal Karia said: “Being a relatively new joiner, I was really impressed by Halcrow's training and development. The ET Business Awards were an ideal opportunity to be recognised for this. It was an excellent night and I felt very proud being there representing Halcrow".
The Evening Telegraph Business Awards are in their 11th year, and are held to give much deserved credit and recognition to those that fly the flag for Peterborough in their respective industries.
Evening Telegraph editor Rebecca Stephens said: "At The Evening Telegraph, nothing gives us greater pleasure than to celebrate and reward excellence in our local businesses. There are too few opportunities to recognise the hard work and contribution that business makes to our community”.
