Halcrow staff get snappy

To help celebrate their twentieth year in the city, Halcrow's Peterborough office held a competition for employees to take photographs of Peterborough and it’s people.

The competition had four categories for the staff to go away and think about. The categories reflected the different areas of Peterborough life.

  • Peterborough people
  • Getting from A to B
  • Halcrow and Peterborough
  • Unique Peterborough

There was an award for the winner of each section and a special prize of a meal for two for the overall winning picture. The winners of each category received a tin of quality street.

The judging took place on Friday 13 October 2006 with the staff ticking their entries and placing in a secret ballot box.

Regional Director Gareth Heatley said: “We thought a photo competition would be an ideal way to involve the staff in celebrating our birthday. As most of our employees are local to the area we thought it would be a good opportunity to celebrate Peterborough at the same time.

It was great to see the amount of time and effort people put in to come up with the winning entry. We certainly have some aspiring photographers in the office.”
The winning photo was from the people of Peterborough category.
