UK: Halcrow's art attack
Halcrow’s Peterborough office has called upon the expertise of Goldhay Arts to brighten up their office.
The group came to Halcrow’s new premises in the Cygnet Business Park to add a touch of colour and inspiration.
Goldhay Arts is a charity offering adults with a learning disability the opportunity to train and develop their artistic skills and interests in the performing and visual arts.
Professional Artists work with the class to teach them how to make the most of their artistic ability. Together they produce quality work which gains recognition from the arts world. Goldhay Arts is funded by Greater Peterborough Primary Care Partnership and Peterborough City Council.
Halcrow purchased two pieces of art from Goldhay in mid-August and were so impressed they commissioned them to create several more pieces. They were invited to Endeavour House to look at the area that will exhibit their work.
Halcrow’s regional director Gareth Heatley said: “We are delighted to be working with Goldhay Arts. Our first painting has been on show in one of the meeting rooms and has been highly regarded by visitors and employees alike. We hope they enjoyed their day with us and it gave them the inspiration they need to create great things.”
The group began the day with a meet and greet and an opportunity to look at the space for the commissioned artwork.
The group had an art session at Endeavour House with a special guest to paint/draw. Halcrow employee Abigail Meddings who works with the Cambridgeshire Bat Groupbought Cromwell and Ellis the bats to the session to act as models.
