Halcrow's inspection services include above water and underwater structural evaluations of waterfront structures, bridge inspections, hydrographic and sub-bottom profile surveying, potable and firewater tank inspections, marina facility assessments, rappelling evaluations of dams and towers, subaqueous pipeline and outfall inspections, underwater design/build projects, waterfront building evaluations, and roadway sign inspections. The company has inspected thousands of structures, both domestically and internationally.

The cornerstone of Halcrow's inspection services is the firm's underwater inspection capabilities. With more commercially trained engineer-divers than any other company in the world, Halcrow is staffed to handle a multitude of concurrent projects. The company employs some of the most skilled and experienced engineer-divers in the marine engineering industry.

The Underwater Inspection Department was established in the 1980's in order to meet the increasing demand for high quality underwater inspection services. Staffed primarily by experienced, full-time, commercially trained engineer-divers with many years of experience in marine engineering, commercial diving, underwater inspection, and underwater construction, Halcrow's underwater inspection teams understand marine structures and the optimum methods for their repair and rehabilitation.

Halcrow is a leader in the field of innovative inspection techniques and methodology. Members of Halcrow have authored numerous manuals on inspection diving and structural evaluation, many of which are now the standards for the marine engineering industry. Most recently, members of the company served on the board for the development of the ASCE manual "Underwater Investigations Standard Practice Manual".
