Halcrow provides world-class services in coastal planning and engineering design, coastal and oceanographic data acquisition, and coastal processes numerical modeling.

The Coastal Engineering Department comprises a staff of highly skilled and motivated coastal engineers and technicians, providing broad-based expertise in design and construction, both domestically and abroad.

Specific areas of expertise include:

	data acquisition and monitoring
	wave climate assessment
	harbor and terminal site evaluations
	sediment transport processes
	beach dynamics and shore protection
	breakwaters and other coastal structures
	numerical and physical modeling
	dredging, disposal, and land reclamation

Halcrow's coastal engineering assignments are often performed in support of major coastal and waterfront development projects, including the planning and design of ports, harbors, and marine terminals. However, the Department also works on a wide variety of other projects, including coastal erosion and sedimentation studies, shore protection and flood protection planning and design, offshore facilities, small craft harbors, environmental impact assessments, and peer review of work performed by other engineers and contractors.
