Added value:
Frequent informal and formal meetings with client, including joint site visits, good communications and development of sound relationship. Frequent discussion of technical options to ensure “no surprises”. Going the “extra mile” in extent and scope of studies.

Innovation:
Project is lump sum for staff remuneration. To address additional demands of client and relative weakness of some national consultants four additional associate engineers were recruited locally who due to (i) relative cost; (ii) enthusiasm; should ensure a cost effective project.

Team work:

Disciplines included: (i) irrigation engineering and system modernisation; (ii) water resources modelling; (iii) GIS and satellite imagery manipulation; (iv) M&E; (v) environmental sciences; (vi) land use planning and (vii) economics.
