Added value:
The instantly recognisable Power Station at Battersea is being transformed into a new focal point of London. Being one of the greenest developments of its kind, it will become a platform for innovation and a place of inspiration.
Halcrow is part of consortium that will design, build, own and operate the utilities infrastructure for the development. Halcrow is wholly responsible for the design of all the utility systems. This comprises:
- 30 MW on site power generation through combined heat and power units
- Portable water distribution
- Wastewater collection, including a grey water reuse system
- Waste water treatment plant
- Distributed hot water system
- Distributed chilled water system
Innovation: The services will be distributed from a purpose built underground plant building housing all CHP, water systems and wastewater treatment plant, and will be routed via purpose build utility tunnels to the various developments.
