scope

Halcrow  was commissioned by Jiangsu Provincial Communications Department to prepare contract documents to enable international bids to be obtained for the construction of this 1400m main span  suspension steel bridge superstructure across the Yang Tye River in Jiangsu Province in China.

By maintaining a close liaison with the Client and the use of translated material, a specification was prepared for the steel trapezoidal deck, the suspension system cables, saddles andanchorages. The specification brought together international standards in the context of this particular project covering all aspects of manufacture and erection including all finishing items.

Subsequently Halcrow was commissioned by the Contractor, Kvaerner Cleveland Bridge, to carry out the independent check and certification of the erection of the bridge superstructure.
