scope

Halcrow has provided civil and structural engineering services to BAA for over ten years.

These projects have included:

. The South East Pier project, being the first phase of a new pier to serve new aircraft stands at Edinburgh Airport, involved a two storey steel framed pier to provide six boarding gates, passenger areas, retail facilities on the first floor and airline ramp accommodation on the ground floor. The new £20 million pier is connected to the main Terminal Building by a 250m long connector. The foundation design of the connector safe guards for the future Edinburgh Airport Rail Link.
. The £10 million Stand 7 Infill project involved the development of a two storey (designed for three) terminal extension, remodelled aircraft stands, new fixed links and passenger airbridges. The infrastructure works package provided new underground services clear of the building footprint.
. The Edinburgh Airport Major Development was carried out in three phases. The major £60 million development provided additional 30,000m2 of new Terminal Buildings, new baggage sort hall, new passenger lounges, CIP areas, retail areas, new combined search area, baggage reclaim, infrastructure works associated with new aircraft stands. The landside terminal design considered blast design in the structural frame.
. Halcrow has provided Civil and Structural Engineering Services for other airport related developments such as Cargo Sheds, Hangars and ARO's, fuel farms and car parks.
