| Halcrow Foundation distributes school uniforms and equipment at displaced persons camp |
|
Financial support was provided for the procurement of school equipment and clothes for 114 children whose lives were severely disrupted by the tsunami.
In early October 2005, a director of the Halcrow Foundation visited an internally displaced persons camp in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, to help distribute new school uniforms for many of the children.
Commenting on the visit to the refugee camp, Nigel Landon, Halcrow’s local project leader who is also responsible for the distribution of funds, said: “We had great fun. There were kids running everywhere. It’s great to be able to do something tangible to help these people on their journey to recovery. Our thanks to everyone in Halcrow that made it possible.”
