The Halcrow Foundation has provided £19,665 funding to finance a number of projects at Martin House, a hospice that provides care and support to families with ill children in Yorkshire.
Martin House provides day to day care for children with life limiting illnesses, including long-term progressive disorders such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Batten’s Disease and Cystic Fibrosis.
The Halcrow Foundation’s donations have been used to refurbish the children’s bedrooms and a medical treatment room and to purchase specialist medical equipment, much of which will help the children become more mobile.
The York and Leeds offices raised funds for the Halcrow Foundation during a Dragon Boat event held by The Rotary Club of York in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The team put forward Martin House as a potential recipient of help from the foundation as it is located between the two offices and fulfils the foundation’s aims and criteria.
