Scope
GMPTE required a station study on the viability of a new station at Golborne south of Wigan. The operational part of this study included generating running times using the RailPlan simulation system, investigating a number of timetable options and costing these.
Benefit to client
The clients was able to understand the operational issues with regard to where the station should be, effect on the Wigan and more importantly Manchester area.
