Scope

The US$950 million bridge comprises a 4.8km long continuous pre-stressed, cantilever balanced concrete box girder bridge on 2.5 and 3.15m diameter and 90m deep open ended tubular piles on foundations, major river training guide bunds (5km total), approach roads (32km total) and flood protection works. Work also included monitoring of Environmental Mitigation Plan and Resettlement Action Plan.

Benefit to client

The bridge for the first time connected the western half of the country with the central and eastern part and is expected to simulate development on both sides of the river carrying vehicular traffic, gas, a power inter connector and railway.
