Halcrow has been employed to provide specialist geotechnical and landfill engineering advice and to assist with regulatory inspections, control, auditing and reporting.

To date, this work has encompassed 19 separate landfill sites.

The scope of works has included a broad range of activities including:

• site inspections to advise on slope failures and groundwater seepage
• inspection of construction practices for the liners, drainage and capping
• review of materials suitability drainage components and clay liners
• advice on Stability Risk Assessment Reports submitted as part of the
• prevention Pollution Control (PPC) Application
• review of waste settlement and gas generation calculations and predictions
• checking geotechnical aspects of Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) plans
• review and detailed checking of CQA Reports.
