Halcrow was appointed to derive robust ground models for use in a stability risk assessment for an area of ancient deep-seated landsliding.
Using information from geomorphological studies and boreholes up to 140m deep, ground models were developed to reconstruct past episodes of landsliding and to develop potential failure scenarios and their relative probabilities.
The assessment of potential consequences and vulnerability of assets was used as a basis for cost benefit appraisal of slope stabilisation options.
